A pin badge is viewed from thirty centimetres

Custom pin badges are usually between 15 and 30 mm. At that size, a logo with five words and a gradient is unreadable: it turns into a blur. That is why we treat it as a reduced brand mark, not a miniature of the brand guidelines: the symbol, two or three solid colours, and lines with enough space for the metal to separate the enamels. If your identity does not work at that size, we will suggest a simplified version and you will see it in the mock-up before approving anything.

The second decision is the finish, and it affects the price more than the size. A full-colour printed button badge is the budget-friendly option for handing out at a one-day event; a hard enamel pin badge with gold plating costs quite a bit more and lasts for years on a lapel. Neither is better than the other: they suit different uses. The usual approach is to keep enamel pin badges for the team and anniversaries, and button badges for the public.

What we need from you for the quote

These badges are not in the online catalogue: they are made from your specifications. With this, we prepare the quote and mock-up:

• Quantity per design. The minimum quantity depends on the mould or die and we will confirm it with the quote, but with metal badges the die or mould cost is spread across the pieces, so the unit price drops sharply as quantities increase.
• Size and shape: the approximate size in millimetres and whether it is round or follows the outline of your symbol.
• Finish: printed button badge, soft or hard enamel, resin, 3D or embroidered, and the metal colour (gold, silver, black nickel or copper).
• Fastening: butterfly clutch, rubber clutch, safety pin or magnet, if you do not want to pierce clothing.
• Date you need the badges for, especially if there is an event behind them.
• Logo in vector format (SVG, AI or PDF); if you only have a PNG or JPG, we will check it and tell you whether it will work.

   Quote and mock-up

   With those details, we will send you the quote and mock-up within 24 working hours. We adjust the reduced version of the logo and finalise the colours before making anything.

   Approval and payment

   Once you approve the mock-up, you pay and production starts. If you would rather see the finish in person, ask us about samples.

   Production and delivery

   Normally it takes two or three weeks from approval; printed button badges are usually quicker than badges with a die or mould. We ship with tracking to one address or split across several sites, throughout the EU.

Where a badge makes sense and what to pair it with

There are three uses we see most often. On a stand, a badge identifies the team without duplicating the name badge when you are already wearing custom lanyards. For internal recognition, a hard enamel pin badge for years of service or for a completed project gets worn instead of left in a drawer; if you want something with more presence, look at custom medals. And for cause or values campaigns, a printed button badge reaches the whole workforce at a controlled cost.

On its own, a badge is a small detail; as part of a set, it makes sense. Pinned to a piece of custom corporate clothing, on a backpack strap or inside a welcome kit, it becomes the signature touch. At trade fairs, a common combination is metal badges for your team and printed button badges for visitors, alongside the rest of your event merchandise.
